SCA 2027 Conference & 50th Anniversary Celebration

Mark your calendars now and plan to join us in San Antonio next year, May 19 through 22 for SCA’s 50th Anniversary Celebration and Conference. From our opening reception the evening of May 19 through our day-long outing to Austin on the 22nd, the conference will explore SCA’s staple interests in roadside travel, tourism and architecture while delving into the region’s unique cultural and ethnic diversity, vernacular art, identity and myth-making, music, food and more. We will also be celebrating SCA’s 50th anniversary!

Registration for the conference will open later this year. A call for submissions for our day-long symposium of presentations will come later in January. With support from the City of San Antonio’s Office of Historic Preservation and other partners on the ground, we are planning a terrific line up of activities, so watch your email for registration links and more information in the coming months!
