NYC: The Golden Age of Air Travel

The SCA 2022 Summer Tour

JUNE 17-19, 2022

SCA’s NYC: Golden Age of Air Travel, our first in-person tour event in three years, was a huge success. Thank you to our master tour guide, Kevin Patrick, and all our organizers, the staff and management of the TWA Hotel, our incredibly patient bus driver and boat captain, the City of New York, and most especially, our fellow SCA members who made the weekend so memorable.

From our base of operations – the spectacular TWA Hotel at JFK International Airport, Eero Saarinen’s 1962 classic – the SCA took off for guided tours of air travel-related sites across the NYC Metro region and a bonus boat tour around Manhattan.

  • Floyd Bennett Field
  • Marine Air Terminal at LaGuardia Airport
  • The historic Building 1 at Newark Liberty International Airport
  • Plus the Manhattan Bridge Infrastructure Tour

We can’t wait for our next adventure, 2023 in Erie, Pennsylvania. Registration will begin shortly. In the meantime, we will see you online for our monthly Zoom events, as well as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and the occasional member-hosted pop-up. Happy summer!
