COUNTRY SQUIRE DINER, BROOMALL, PENNSYLVANIA.
This mid-1960s postcard view of the Country Squire presents the diner and Philadelphia’s western suburbs as cutting-edge Modern.
Fodero built this diner with stainless steel reduced to trim and more surface devoted to plate glass and stone. The end result was Rat Pack-era sleek and sophisticated. Still, Colonial quaintness was on its way, apparent in the sign font and coach lamps.
