SCA Road Notes, formally (and informally) known as SCA News, is a quarterly publication and member benefit of the Society for Commercial Archeology. Digital copies of all issues dating back to 1993 can be downloaded by members when logged in for FREE (join today!), or can be downloaded by non-members for $2 each.
About Road Notes
SCA Road Notes has four regular features:
- Five Favs – contributors promote their top commercial archeology selections for a place (such as a city or highway), roadside topic (such as motels or diners), or artist’s portfolio (paintings or photos);
- Sign Snippets – Debra Jane Seltzer covers vintage signs that have recently been restored, adapted, removed, or destroyed;
- In Brief – features condensed versions of important commercial archeology articles submitted by SCA members; and
- Editor’s Column – Douglas Towne touches on underreported roadside topics and people.
The SCA News has been edited by Douglas Towne since 2004 and designed by Victor Bokas since 2018.
