SCA Day Tripper: New Orleans
Curated Kimberly Ellis, SCA Board
Welcome to the Big Easy!
Formally founded in 1718 by the French on lands inhabited by the Chitimacha, New Orleans today is a modern city influenced by its diverse inhabitants.
New Orleans food, architecture, music and celebratory traditions have historic ties to Creoles, Spaniards, French, Irish, Italians, enslaved Africans and free people of color. Today, New Orleans is a major destination for live music, tourism, sporting events and, of course, Mardi Gras. Get ready for a good time. Or, as we say, laissez les bon temps rouler. Enjoy!
